Booth Malone returns to Aiken for his seventh year teaching this popular workshop, instructing painters of intermediate to advanced skills to bring their equestrian paintings to life. Work is in studio, with opportunities to view and photograph thoroughbreds in their morning exercise, foxhounds, driving, plus the occasional surprise model. Sign up is through Aiken Center for the Arts.
Booth Malone is one of the major equestrian artists in America today. He is a figurative artist in the realist school. His forte is capturing movement, light and gesture in both people and animals.
In 2006, he was the official artist for the Breeder’s Cup. In 2007, he was the featured artist for the Masters of Foxhunting Association Centennial Exhibit. His work has appeared on the cover of numerous horseman-related magazines, including The Chronicle of the Horse.
He is the current President of the Board of Directors, and Dean of Painting, for the American Academy of Equine Art. He is also a Signature Member of both Oil Painters of America (OPA) and the Society of Animal Artists (SAA). He has been a Signature member of the AAEA since 1997.
The course will emphasize oil painting technique, rendering the horse and secondary figures, how to sketch a composition and how to use photographs as reference. For more information contact email@example.com.
