James L. Crow
James L. Crow and wife Molly live on a small farm near Lexington, Kentucky, where they raise and train American Saddlebred horses. Mr. Crow has been a professional artist since 1955, specializing in Sporting Art since 1979. His paintings have been displayed at the Kentucky Horse Park (a one-man show and several AAEA exhibitions); the Kentucky Derby Museum at Churchill Downs, Louisville, KY; the James Hunt Baker Invitational, New Jersey; and others. He has won many awards including Best of Show, Best Sporting Art and Best Watercolor.
Mr. Crow's paintings and prints hang in private collections throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, England, Australia, and Japan. He has done commissions for The Marchioness of Tavistock; Woburn Abbey, England; the American Saddlebred Horse Association; Star World of Arabians; Anderson Fowler, New Jersey; Wayne Newton; and Michele Macfarlane, Scripps Miramar Ranch, San Diego, California.
His paintings have been published in books and magazines including Racing in Art and The Art of the Horse; the cover of the 1998 issue of Equine Images; and the 1991 cover for Maryland Horse.
Mr. Crow is represented by Collector's Gallery, Lexington, Kentucky and the Klausner Cooperage Gallery, Louisville, Kentucky.
