AAEA - KATHI PETERS

She Rode a Purple Horse
11.5" x 10.75" Casein

With her painterly caseins depicting the world of the horse, Kathi Peters has managed to develop her own unique style. Educated in the U.S. and Europe, Kathi attended the Rome Academy of Fine Arts on a full scholarship at the young age of 17. She later attended one of Rome’s commercial art schools, again being awarded a full scholarship. Her formative years in art were spent doing graphic design and fashion illustration, helping to strengthen her ability to quickly capture a scene without loosing a sense of design and form.

Today Kathi lives in Downeast Maine with her husband, on their farm where they raise Welsh Cobs and enjoy the traditional sport of carriage driving. She pursues her art full time, absorbing inspiration from the rural countryside, her farm and local animals along Maine’s rocky coast. Her works most often portray the equine carriage-driving world. Kathi works in casein, watercolor and cutpaper.

As an award-winning artist, Kathi has received recognition for her work at many juried and invitational exhibits nation wide. As an elected Associate Member of both the American Academy of Equine Art and Women Artists of the West, her work hangs in private and museum collections throughout the United States and Europe. Kathi accepts limited commissions.
