Michael Nevin paints horses in harness, rain on city streets -- the diversity of the American Midwest. He uses acrylics to explore the contrasts of light and texture he sees in burnished leather and shiny brass, soft muzzles and sweaty coats.

His award-winning work consistently appears in such national juried exhibitions as Arts for the Parks, the AWS Annual, and the Butler Institute of American Art’s National Midyear Exhibition. His most recent solo exhibition took place at the Elmhurst Art Museum.

Publications about his art include feature articles in Horses in Art and Artist’s Magazine, where his work has appeared on the cover, and a chapter on his technique in The Acrylic Painter’s Handbook of Style and Technique, published by North Light Press.

Mike, who is represented by the Bonfoey Gallery in Cleveland and Cross Gate Gallery in Lexington, is a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art and a signature member of the AWS as well as the AAEA.

You can contact Mike at michaelnevin@comcast.net or by calling 630-834-6564.
