Bonnie
Swart, KA, AAEA Associate
Bonnie
was born in 1939 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She and her family
later moved to Mill Valley, California where Bonnie attended
U.C. Davis. Bonnie later married Carter Swart and raised three
daughters and three horses on a small amount of acreage in
southern California. During this time, she began a course of
art studies which included classes at Ventura College and workshops
with a number of accomplished instructors including Jan Kunz,
Don Ricks, Willing Herring Donald Putman and Judi Betts.
While
helping her husband research thoroughbred racing articles at
the California Thoroughbred Breeders Association library, she
began painting Thoroughbreds and the general racetrack scene.
Her work is in the collection of numerous Thoroughbred and
Arabian breeders' owners and trainers. Bonnie's paintings have
been on the cover of many popular Arabian and Thoroughbred
magazines and she was the featured artist in the Fall 1989
edition of Equine Images.
